It did arrive in the actual box with some tape around - if its a gift then perhaps plain packaging would be better however that wasn't a problem here. It does go out of tune often initially but this does settle down as time moves on - after reading other reviews I believe this is normal. Review: Firstly, a very attractive looking didge with striking artwork against the black background. Very authentic looking too with well shaped annd sized mouthpiece and flared bell. The back pressure is very good, so too are harmonics and vocals. Overall, this plays really well and is an excellent addition to a growing collection of didges. Review: I've had an entry level uke (Makala MK-T) for the last year (which I've been very happy with for the price) and was looking to move up to a better quality Uke. Did quite a bit of research on the internet and thought the Antonio Carvalho Deluxe Tenor sounded ideal for the quality and build. I was a little concerned that it all sounded too good to be true for the price, but I needn't have worried. It is a beautiful uke - very well made using koa and with lovely detailing. Review: This is an excellent pick-up! Just fitted it to an open back banjo and put through it's paces at a band rehearsal. Great sound quality through 40w Fender amp and the tone control is great. Avoids all the feedback problems of clipping a condenser mic to the body. Easy to fit.Bridge has lowered banjo action slightly and that's fine. Good service from DJM. Review: First off. Congratulations on prompt delivery (as always). I bought this ukulele in the hope of getting my 7 year old granddaughter interested in playing. If she doesn't then I am still left with a very nice good, quality instrument which I will attempt to learn to play. I have shown this uke to several of my musician friends who all agree that it is very good value for money and definitely not a toy. In fact I believe one of my friends is going to purchase one in the very near future. Looking forward to mastering it myself. I have had the ukulele for a few days now and it now stays pretty much in tune. Review: I have purchased this Ukuele for my 13 year old daughter for Xmas, but sadly the gap of the strings to the fretboard near the very top 2 frets are just far to wider gap, making playing a chord/note, I would say virtually impossible. I struggled, so much so that my Ingres really hurt. In fact there that bad, I had a quick go after tuning, of white sandy beach, (check YouTube), and the very high chords, are just going to be impossible for her to use. I would like to return it and get one that doesn't have this problem, but with my severe budget I suspect they would all be this poor. Review: A very good quality bag with the added advantage of two shoulder straps to wear it like a rucksack on your back - this has been very useful as i ride my bike to a mates to have a ukulele hour now and then, and my other bag kept slipping around the front. Not certain as to whether it is rainproof (it didnt say it was) time will tell. The ukulele fits in very easily, not too tight and the pockets are very useful for the extras we have to carry like the tuner and notes. Review: I got this as an alternative for another ukulele which was out of stock. Firstly, this doesn't come wrapped in any way, so if it's being given as a surprise through the post, it won't be! Also, any attempt at tuning done prior to posting was completely lost by the time it arrived. It took a little while for the strings to "settle" and for me to get the correct tuning (using an online site) but now it seems to be staying in tune well. I was pleased with the sound and general quality of the instrument for the price. Yes, you can tell it's not pricey but it's really good for getting started and playing around. Review: Bought this for my 7 yr old who is starting ukelele club at school - she was VERY impressed with this as it was different to everyone elses and she loves the pineapple shape! I'm not an expert on the tuning - struggled to do it myself with the included tuner but her teacher did it for her (my daughter said my efforts were 'terrible' but that could well be my lack of any musical talent than the tuner!). Review: Really good for the price, needed a setup doing (action lowering at nut and bridge, not very playable as received) and would benefit from better strings, but you expect that at the price! Every bit as good as the usual M*h*l* ukuleles at similar price point in my opinion - the actual sound from the body is pretty good - and the London Underground design against a very cool shade of grey is extremely funky and groovy. I already have several better ukes but really fancied one of these for fun, and I wasn't disappointed. Review: I wanted to teach myself, with the aid of the internet (youtube) the Bodharn Drum and asked DJM Music their opinion on what I should buy. They didn't in anyway suggest that I purchase the most expensive or fancy drum which I appreciate their honesty. The drum dose what it says on the box and I'm happy with it. It's a bit more trickier than I expected to use as I'm not a musician but with some perseverance I hope to be drumming along with my favourite Celtic music at some time. I would like to add that I received the drum before I received the e-mail saying it had been dispatched, so on that note, excuse the pun, extra point need to be awarded for that. Review: I bought this itme to replace a simple passive piezo pick-up for my "Richwood" uke. You do have to have reasonable crafting skills to fit this item as there are no instructions! Review: The adage that you get what you pay for is applicable in this case (no pun intended). The first one receieved had a stitching fault which was so glaring that one wonders how it was missed. Credit to DJM for responding swiftly and collecting the faulty one and sending a new one. As for the case itself, from the outside one could not fault it too much although on closer look it is doubtful if the material used will stand up to much scruffing in use. The lid fitted well and all the metal fittings clipped shut accurately and reassuringly. Inside, it was obvious that cheap material had been used to line the case. In fact, it looked like the same black material that was used in shipping the case (not too dissimilar from the weed control fabric one finds in gardening stores)! The padding was adequate and firm but hardly generous. The way the lining and padding had been tucked in and glued down is adequate but not very polished. All in all, an adequate case if you are looking for one for protecting your uke at home from heavy books, bums, and dust. But I imagine that it would probably not stand up to the rough treatment of an itinerant troubadour. There are probably better cases by the same factory and brand, but for under £30, this hardcase is hard to crack. Good for a range of instruments (but bowl-back mandolin is too deep), though as there's no neck support they can slip sideways on the stand (I found this particularly with fiddles). Good then if you can stand it in a safe place, less good if it gets knocked when your strad is on it. Review: The service from DJM was impeccable and the product arrived promptly within the two hour time slot given, well packaged and in good condition. The product itself was as described although one of the tuning pegs was/is a bit loose. Value for money wise it is good-as they say, a good introduction to the instrument. Buy this as a gift or a tester to see if you really want to learn or play one -it's really easy to pick up. Then, if you do, get a quality one as even after a week of tuning it still drops way down after a few minutes of playing. Review: A great value instrument, it sounds pretty good strummed but even better when fingerpicked. I'm not a great guitarist but it adds another dimension to my practicing. It could probably do with th eaction lowering very slightly at the neck to suit my style, but I'll spend some time getting used to it before making any adjustments; in any case it plays very well straight out of the box. It's constructed to a very high standard for the price and comes in a superb hard case. Review: Ukulele fine - recipient seems happy. However Although the instrument and its case arrived in perfect condition,the adhesive tape sealing the box was almost completely off and the driver seeemed to be holding the box together when he handed it to me. It was also puntured and torn. I would suggest that a couple of pieces of crumpled paper would have prevented the case from moving within the box. Review: I bought this as my first banjo and it's wonderful, I've played the guitar for around 10 years and switching to a banjo feels like a light relief on the fingers! the action is great, really comfortable to play, sounds great with and without the wooden back, I chose this banjo form this site because it came with a free case which I thought was important. The case is good enough to get you by, padded and with carry straps, also comes with tools to take your banjo apart!With Ozark you know it's going to be great, I own an Ozark resonator which is also superb! great build quality and made to last! Review: This is a lovely little instrument, great sound at a great price. Really easy to play, moved from guitar to uke two years ago, and had the acoustic one. Ended up buying one for my all my mates and we started the Liverpool Ukulele Orchestra, now eighty plus members. We play a lot of rock and roll, and this is a great lead instrument. Review: I rated this "good" but that means good for the low cost. It really is more of a toy but actually quite playable. It doesn't compare at all to my quality ukes that cost £100-£300 but it is OK for holiday use and dragging on/off planes etc. The intonation isn't bad. The strings are awful at first because they haven't been stretched. So you need to initially tune it a couple of tones higher when you first get it and leave it high over night - Particularly the G string. The tuners are the open "grover" style which looks cool but don't mistake them for quality tuners - There is a bit of slack in them but they're good enough. The frets are finished well like a quality intrument and can pull fluff from the lining of a bag if you have that type of bag. Review: Great for the money. I needed this because this is for my "travel uke" which is the Mahalo LP style soprano. It is my cheap uke for taking on holiday on planes etc. So I needed a protective gig bag. It seemed a little tight at first for the my uke but actually it is a good fit. Review: This review has to be taken into context that this ukulele is quite cheap to buy. That said I am very pleased with it. I bought a cheaper uke for my nephew for christmas, I tuned it prior to wrapping it and was amazed at how quickly I picked up playing it, this is from someone who has often struggled to learn guitar, the piano being my main instrument. So I opted to buy my own and this was when I opted for the Telecaster. It is a beautiful looking instrument, far nicer than the picture and it has a nice tone, the only downside I found was that one of the tuning knobs doesn't feel quite right,when I get a moment I think I should be able to fix this though, and the string is holding its pitch. Review: Case: Absolutly fantastic case; it will protect the ke from pretty much anything that could realistically happen whilst you're transporting it from gigs. Ukulele: It's a great instrument, but it is not the one displayed on the image. It is still a concert mahalo that's mahogany but the machin heads are positioned on the side rather than on the back. That was not a problem for me be it may be for you.The actuall instrumant has ecxellent tone and is comfortable to hold. Review: We bought this for our 5 year old daughter as a christmas present...and she loves it! It is well made has it's own carry case and comes in pink!
