Review: My daughter needed a full size violin as her Primavera 200 was 3/4 and is now too small. The Loreato seemed like the perfect choice. Excellent price from DJM and a spec sheet that painted a really nice picture. I have to say we haven't been disapointed, its a beautiful instrument. The case is excellent and the carbon bow is an added extra rarely found on a viloin of this price. All in all its superb, an absolute bargain actually. Review: I found the ordering process somewhat confusing and ended up ordering three cases, although I only wished to buy one and had only entered my full payment details for one.Be that as it may, the cello case arrived on time, in perfect condition and I am pleased with it.I am impressed by how light it is and this is one of the reasons for my purchase. If I have a complaint it is that the internal fixings rely on Velcro and this sometimes sticks to to soft internal covering. I recognise that the Velcro is used because it is light in weight but I would have preferred some other form of light weight fixings. Review: Absolutely perfect! I saw other upright bass players with these on their tailpiece holding a bow, but I never knew what they were called! Found out it's called a Quiver! Not many places seem to sell these things, but I came across this one on DJM and it fits the bill perfectly! Really excellent design, seems very well made. Does the job brilliantly and the delivery speed was second to none! Ordered online at 1pm and it arrived in the post the next day! Also lots of other double bass bits I may look at buying. Review: Pick-ups are great quality for the price, if you stick it on the left 'F-Hole' and loop the cable between the tail peice and the chin rest then it won't get in the way of the bow. A warning though: 2 and a half meters might sound long but if you're tall you will be very limited in terms of straying space. Review: Recently bought this Shadow Twin disc Transducer pickup and I am happy with the results. I haven't needed a separate preamp probably as I connect my cello to a mixing desk which then goes through the PA. It has less feedback than my last pickup, allowing me to be much louder so I can compete with the electric guitars and drums much better. A bit fiddly to fix,as it would not stay fixed in the bridge slots, but found the best place to be fixed near the sound post for both pickups.Haven't tried direct into an amp as I never connect up this way. Review: This stand is well-made and good value. I bought this one because I wanted a stand that held the cello around the body, rather than at the neck. Overall, I'm pleased with it but I think there is some room for improvement. My main gripe is that I found it quite difficult to set up the stand so that it could be used with both the cello spike out and in. In between playing, it's useful to be able to rest the cello with the spike out. Then when you've finished and put away the spike, you should be able to stand the cello in the spike holder, without any adjustment to the stand. I think this would be much easier if the spike holder was adjustable up and down, rather than just on a tilt. I also found that the stand become more wobbly when the main struts were set further apart, which is not what I would've expected. After about half an hour spent trying different positions, I eventually arrived at one that worked reasonably well. Review: DJM made up for very poor manufacturer service. Initially I received a violin that was scratched, with a string broken and a bow that had been stored through its strings. Terrible. I returned this free of charge to DJM using their returns service. I ordered a replacement which arrived after several weeks with delays. This time the violin arrived in good repair but needing to be setup. I searched YouTube for videos and within a couple of hours had set up the bridge, tuned the violin and yet still could not play it as the roisin had turned up completely shattered. One email later and DJM shipped out a gratis replacement which was perfect (Tiger). Some roisin later and a retune and I was able to get the first few notes out of my new violin. It has a good sound to it and as this is my first violin I can only say that it is pleasing to my ear and finally here in one piece. Review: This review does not come from a professional musician but from someone who bought the violin merely as a prsent. The package came in no time securely packaged The box was ok although I didn't really see the point why they they should charge extra pounds for adding the word 'antique' this to me is bad and mean marketing. I just wanted a square box but it came under that 'umbrella', and it was a present for someone but if you would purchase this than go with the normal outfit or just email them to replace the box with a square one; I was in a rush to purchase hence why I went with it and didn't request a replacement box. The quality of the violin was good clean as a whistle. The lines were properly defined and the strings were in great condition. I rosined the bow and just briefly tested the strings for sound it came alive; all in all good build. Review: Purchased this shoulder rest co-inciding with increased size in violin, have previously used a KUN rest on last violin. Comparitively similar in appearance and functionality. Have found the FOM harder to attach to the violin as the rubber over the feet is quite thick, giving what appears a less secure hold onto the instrument, as it seems to be detaching itself with frequency when the viloin is removed from hold and happily remaining on my daughters shoulder - perhaps because it has not had time to 'bed-in' yet. Review: The order of two pickups arrived very quickly. The pick-up fitted easily on fiddle. It was tested with various amplifiers and compared with a band-type pickup. There was significant feedback requiring a notch filter set at approximately the C above middle C, i.e. in the middle of the desired playing range. The quality of sound was thin with some undesirable resonance effects. Review: At this moment in time I can only comment on the (good) Packaging and prompt delivery of the Violin bow. The bow is for my 7 year old Granddaughter as an addition to the second hand 3/4 violin I purchased. Neither of which she has received as yet. Review: This is a nice little cello at a good price. I bought it for a 3 yr old that I teach. It arrived with the bridge tied to the fingerboard with a bit of ribbon, and the strings tucked underneath, so I had to assemble it myself. This was ok as I am a teacher and it's for a 3 year old so doesn't need to be perfect, but for the less confident parent, you'd need to take it to a teacher or a string shop to have it set up properly. It was still more or less in tune after a week so I can't complain. Mine is a much darker colour than the photo, not that this matters. If you are looking for a tiny cello then I would recommend this outfit - it even came with rosin. Review: This Violin case is superb! It is exactly as I saw it. If you carry a neck rest, it fits fine where the neck of the violin rests, next to the compartment for your rosin. If you have thick music methods and what not, it fits perfectly in the exterior compartment. Unlike my old case, the carrying handle does not dig into your palms and it is not as cheap.
