I purchased these as a trial to see what they were like. They're fairly good. The weight and balance is pretty good, but as expected the quality of wood wasn't that great. The wood grain is quite far apart and not particularly dense, causing the sticks to break down the grain quite easily. But for the price they're OK.

Lower grade Hickory...
Lower grade Hickory compared to the Vic Firth; but better finished .The tips are larger than Vic Firth but in your hands Little difference in playing . I use both types of sticks on my Roland V-Drums.A very good cheaper alternative to the higher grade hickory types !! Hickory is the lowest grade of usable hardwood available it is used for handles for a number of hand tools, hammers, pick axes,etc.Even in "high grade" examples it is the cheapest hardwood .
