Tiger Vibraslap

Item Code: VIB7-WD

The Tiger Vibraslap or as often known as a chatterbox is an excellent piece of percussion, most commonly found in Latin American music. Manufactured from durable 5mm thick bent metal wire connected to both a smooth wooden ball & hollow wooden box with metal 'teeth' inside, the percussionist holds the metal wire in one hand and strikes the ball, usually against the palm of the other hand.
The hollow box acts as a resonating body for a metal mechanism placed inside with six loosely fastened pins that vibrate and rattle against the top & bottom of the box.

The Tiger Vibra-slap features high-grade metal & wooden components, & is a fantastic addition to any percussion setup. The sound can be varied simply by rotating the sound chamber.

The use of the Vibraslap in popular music dates back to the 1970's, but can famously be heard in such songs as 'Orange Crush' by R.E.M, as well as the theme tune for the 90's hit comedy, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
